The cocktails and mocktails listed below were invented right here, by a member of the club. Cheers!
The Blueberry Bantha
This is our first member created cocktail, not created by one of the founders. We are thrilled to feature Leif’s tasty cocktail as the first of our “member created” series.
A well known fan of all things Star Wars, Leif found a creative way to combine blueberries with an often overlook liqueur, Limon Rum Chata! Leif’s original recipe is served on the rocks with minimal straining. We also discovered that if you like a cocktail served “up” (no ice) you can modify this drink. No change in the recipe, just double strain into a chilled glass.
Thank you Leif for raising this glass for all of us to enjoy!! Cheers! And May the Force be with You!!!
0.75oz Fresh Lime Juice
1.0oz Cointreau
1.0oz Limon Rum Chata
2.0oz Gin (Old Tom Gin works well)
8-10 fresh blueberries (will be muddled)
Add blueberries to a shaker tin and muddle into a nice paste
Add all the liquids to the shaker tin
Add 0.5 cup of ice cubes
Shake for 20-30 seconds (the longer the better)
Strain into a prepared rocks glass with ice cubes
Option for cocktails served “up””Double strain into a chilled coupe glass

The Wallace and Davis O.F.
The Old Fashioned is a classic. An easy cocktail to make and enjoy at home, or to order from any bar in the world. We thought it would be fun to do a riff on the Old Fashioned for the holidays. This mixture evokes the taste of chocolate covered cherries, but the balance is crucial with this cocktail.
First thing: stick with Bourbon. We tried it with Rye and the spice will quickly overwhelm the delicate balance here (Scotch would also overpower it). Also, abide by the 0.5oz of cherry heering. If you put a full shot in this drink the only thing you’ll taste is cherry. Finally, THREE dashes of the bitters. The last thing you taste should be the chocolate. We hope you enjoy this Runaway Anchor Original Cocktail for the holidays this year (or anytime you’re in the mood for something a little sweet)!
If you’re wondering about the name. This classic cocktail needed a classic holiday movie to go along with it, so we went with White Christmas, naming the cocktail after the characters played by Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.
Happy Holidays!
2.0oz Bourbon
0.5oz Cherry Heering Liqueur
3 dashes of Chocolate Bitters
In a Mixing Glass, add all three ingredients
Add ice and stir for 30 seconds
Strain over a single ice cube if possible
Garnish with 2-3 Maraschino Cherries

The Ramona
We’ve spent many hours introducing our daughter to movies we love, from Empire Records to Serendipity. But this drink was created one evening when she was introducing us to one her favorite movies. Namely, “Scott Pilgrim vs the World”. I created this mocktail for her that evening and empowered her to name it. You don’t have to fight the “seven evil exes” to drink this one though! Cheers!
